Werner to head up the Scientific Board, effective immediately. In his new role, Professor Werner will serve as the “Chairman of the Scientific Board”. Rolf G. Werner is a Professor of Industrial Biotechnology and an Honorary Senator at the Eberhard Karls University Tübingen. He is one of the world’s leading experts in research, development and production of pharmaceutical biotechnologies, with more than 35 years of industry experience in various leadership positions at Boehringer Ingelheim, including head of global biopharmaceuticals. The company’s more than 47,000 employees and revenues of EUR 13.3 billion in 2014 make Boehringer Ingelheim the largest research pharmaceutical company in Germany. Prof. Werner’s scientific contributions include more than 180 publications, 20 patents and 15 scientific films.
